
Scott Cormier

About
Mr. Scott Cormier serves as President of the International Association of EMS Chiefs (IAEMSC), whose mission is to support, promote and advance the leadership of EMS response entities and to advocate for the EMS profession. IAEMSC membership is made up of leaders from both career and volunteer EMS organizations and proudly represents and embraces the diversity of EMS agencies throughout the world. Prior to this, Scott spent 17 years leading Emergency Management and Safety for two of the largest health organizations in the United States. Scott has led large system response to many disasters, including two pandemics, a national cyberattack, and has overseen hospital evacuations and repopulations. He has published articles on hospital preparedness, emergency medical services, and influenza patient safety. Scott was selected to the Becker’s Review “One of 55 Patient Safety Experts to Know in 2023.” Mr. Cormier is a member of the NFPA 3000 committee dealing with Active Shooter and Hostile Event Response. Scott worked professionally for the City of Pittsburgh EMS and River Rescue teams. He has over 38 years of healthcare, emergency management, public safety, and military experience.
