Julie Bulson serves as the Director of Business Assurance and System Incident Commander. In this role she is responsible for the strategic development of the emergency management and business continuity functions ensuring operations during a critical incident response. She partners with key leaders to implement key tactics to minimize the impact to the organization maintaining business functions for both Care Delivery and Coverage. She has been integral in the development of a systemwide structure for healthcare emergency management and business continuity. She currently chairs the MI Region 6 HPP Healthcare Coalition and serves as the Administrative Officer for the Health Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (HPH SCC).
 

Background
Julie has over 45 years of healthcare experience with 40 years engaged in healthcare emergency management and business continuity planning. She started her tenure at Corewell Health in 1978 transitioning into various leadership roles in the clinical space. In 2005 she started the Business Assurance department moving into her current roll as Director, Business Assurance in 2010. She has published several articles and has presented nationally on healthcare emergency preparedness. She participated in the development of a national certification for healthcare emergency managers.
 

Education/Certifications
Julie began her career with a diploma in nursing from Blodgett School of Nursing. Since then, has received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Public Administration (MPA), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Grand Valley. She is certified as a Nursing Executive (NE-BC) and a Master of Healthcare Emergency Management (HcEM-M).
